Document Description
Repair or replace approx. 17 sites of deteriorating CA Aqueduct canal liner within State Water Project right of way, in order to restore the facility to original condition, purpose and capacity. Damaged sections of canal liner and embankment will be repaired by various methods, including drilling to allow pressurized grouting of subsurface voids, or removal of old liner sections and pouring of replacement new concrete liner material, or occasionally installing seepage-control berms in the landside embankment toe, if needed. No new soil disturbance or impacts to natural vegetation or wildlife habitat areas will occur. Construction management includes environmental monitoring so that there will be no potentially significant adverse environmental impacts associated with this work. Maintenance restoration of the State Water Project facilities provides benefits to the people of the CA by restoring operational efficiency for the transport and distribution of water.
