Document Description
Maintenance project which will grind existing pavement and place 0.10 feet of graded hot-mix asphalt (HMA), as well as some metal beam guardrail. Project is needed to maintain this portion of SR 49 in good condition. The HMA treatment will seal the underlying roadway to resist water infiltration, which preserves the roadway.

Reasons for Exemption
Project limits and Env Study Limit (ESL) are confined to the roadway prism, and there's little soil disturbance. The only soil disturbance will be to remove & replace old metal beam guardrail (MBGR) with new MBGR. There are no sensitive habitats present within the areas of soil disturbance/MBGR replacement. No sensitive habitats or species sighted within the project limits and ESL.
