Document Description
The project proposes to replace three wood power poles with two 6 ft diameter by 70 ft tall steel poles. The poles will be mounted on 25 to 31 ft deep concrete bases. The old poles and associated guy anchors will be removed along with any excess material. Access will be along existing dirt roads. Two large cottonwood trees and several live oaks will be trimmed to accommodate the new transmission lines. All work will occur within a 30 ft REU utility easement and on City property.

Reasons for Exemption
Class 2 exemptions include the replacement or reconstruction of existing facilities or structures including utility systems. Two large cottonwoods will be slightly trimmed (<10 ft) and 2-3 live oaks will be trimmed along the railroad tracks. Standard water pollution control specifications will address potential erosion and stormwater pollution. No permits are required for the project. Although Sulphur Creek is a sensitive resource, it will not be impacted by the project, nor will any other sensitive resources. There is no reasonable possibility that this project will have a significant effect on the environment.
