The proposed project affects all stationary and portable engines over 50 rated brake horsepower within the SCAQMD jurisdiction. Rule 1110.2 limits NOx, VOC, and CO emissions from the combustion of gaseous- and liquid-fueled engines. Under PAR 1110.2, biogas-fired engines would have additional time to comply with the rule's emission limits. Additionally, limits will be placed on the number of breakdowns and emissions during breakdown events for all engines. Other minor changes are proposed for clarity and consistency throughout the rule. The Initial Study identifies the following environmental topic area that may be adversely affected by the proposed project: air quality and greenhouse gas emissions. Impacts to this environmental area will be further analyzed in the Draft Subsequent EA.
