Reasons for Exemption
Cont: (c); Categorical Exemption Class 3, Sec 15303 The Lake Don Pedro Community Services District is a special district that provides water to a population of approximately 3,200 people via more than 1,400 service connections. The community encompasses portions of La Grange and Coulterville, which overlaps Mariposa and Tuolumne counties. The District pumps water from Lake McClure, which is blended with ground water before treating it and pumping it into the District's distribution system. The Governor, Mariposa County, Tuolumne County, and the District have all proclaimed a drought emergency. Due to the ongoing drought emergency and severe lack of water supply in Lake McClure, the District has adopted mandatory water conservation measures and water use restrictions. However, in order to ensure that the District has sufficeint water to provide to customers as lake levels continue to drop, the District requires additional groundwater to supplement the declining surface water supplies. Exempts emergency repairs to public service facilities necessary to maintain service.
