Document Description
The California Department of General Services (DGS) is performing tenant improvements on the 7th Floor of the annexed building (constructed in 1996) in order for the Department of Public Health to occupy vacated space. The tenant improvements include building a demising wall and removing a 48 inch panel where it interferes with a column; and removal of a wall to provide aisles between cubicles.

Existing Facilities The project is a tenant improvement in an existing state building. CEQA Section 15301 Class 1 consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of the lead agency's determination. The project is not in an environmentally sensitive area. The California Department of General Services confirms that no exception apply which would preclude the use of a Notice of Exemption for this project.
