Document Description
CDFW has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2015-0043-R5, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Rancho Simi Recreation and Parks. The project is limited ot the alteration of an 85,000 sq. ft. man-made lagoon, located in the Rancho Simi Community Park. The project consists of dewatering the lagoon and removing an estimated 6,000 cubic yards of sediment and debris that has accumulated at the bottom of the lagoon. The clay liner will then be replaced, existing irrigation infrastructure will be removed and replaced, and the existing concrete curb around the lagoon shoreline will be re-constructed. The adverse effects the project could have on the fish or wildlife resources include: the temporary disturbance of colonial nesting areas for the black-crowned night heron; the permanent removal of two small vegetated islands within the lagoon, estimated to be less than 0.01 acres. The project will also permanently remove 8 western sycamore, 16 red willow, and 2 white alder trees.
