Document Description
The proposed project is the Port of San Diego Family Fishing Tournament, which will take place at the Pepper Park fishing pier in the City of National City and Bayside Park fishing pier in the City of Chula Vista on Sunday, June 14, 2015, from approx. 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The District will provide sponsorship in the form of District funding and services for the event, a family fishing tournament. In addition to the tournament, the event will feature information tables introducing the public to outdoor recreational opportunities such as fishing within the San Diego Bay. At both locations, attendees will check in, receive tournament information, snacks and - if needed - loaner fishing gear at no charge. Attendees will fish from the pier at each location from approx. 8-11:30 a.m. At the end of the tournament, operators from the San Diego Anglers will weigh the fish and determine who will win fish prizes. Following the event weigh-in an awards ceremony will be held at each pier to showcase the winners.
