Document Description
Relocate a section of the hull from the old steam schooner the "Point Arena" to Pigeon Point State Historic Park from Ano Nuevo State Reserve to improve interpretation for the vessel that ran aground off Pigeon Point in 1913. The project will involve stabilizing and securing he hull for transport to its new location at Pigeon Point Light Station State Historic Park. At its new location the ship hull will be placed on a custom made concrete and wood base foundation near the Pigeon Point Lighthouse. Some native vegetation wil be removed to accommodate the base foundation and the area around the display will be level graded and compacted to accommodate accessibility requirements.The existing interpretive panel will also be relocated and installed adjacent to the relocated ship hull.

Repair and alteration of an existing public structure involving a negligible expansion of use beyond that existing, included as "Modifications of existing facilities for disable access" in the Department of Parks and Recreation's list of exempt activities, in accordance with CCR S15300.4; minor alteration in the condition of land such as grading and landscaping that do not affect sensitive resources; construction of placement of minor structures accessory to existing facilities and the restoration of historical resources in a manner consistant witht he "Secretary of the Interior's STandards for the TReatment of Historic Properties with guidelines for Preserving, Rehabilitating, Restoring, and reconstructing Historic Buildings" (1995), by Weeks and Grimmer.
