The proposed project includes expansion of the existing MRRF and operation of a new transfer station. An amendment to the existing CUP for the MRRF to increase capacity from 150 to 480 tons of recyclables per day is required, as well as a new CUP for the operation of a transfer station with a capacity of up to 150 tons per day. All project improvements would be located inside the existing building, including a 5,000 sf expansion into the adjacent tenant's warehouse space and raising of two loading dock doors. An additional 52 employees are expected to be hired.
