Document Description
CDFW has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2016-0136-R2, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Three Rivers Levee Improvement Authority. The project would create approx. 17 acres of elderberry scrubland, 120 acres of mixed riparian forest, 65 acres of riparian scrubland, 85 acres of valley oak woodland, and 216 acres of perennial grassland habitat on approx. 500 acres of land located within the Feather River Levee Setback Area. The project site will change from active agricultural production to native wildlife habitat; the project would enhance/restore floodplain habitat that would serve as a conservation bank and be used as mitigation to offset impacts of future Central Valley Flood Protection Plan levee and floodway improvement projects and State Plan of Flood Control Protection Plan levee and floodway improvement projects and State Plan of Flood Control routine operations and maintenance activities. Additional details of the project include application of native grass seed mix, weed control, irrigation, maintenance and monitoring, replanting, and habitat monitoring.
