Document Description
County proposes to 1) replace an existing, functionally obsolete, one-lane, 9-foot wide, limited-capacity timber suspension bridge reconstructed in 1939, with a new bridge approx. 1,250 feet long and 35.5 feet wide, that meets current safety standards; and 2) realign the southern and northern Mosquito Road roadway approaches. The new bridge will have two 11- to 12-foot lanes with 4-foot shoulders and guardrails. Because the project would be constructed outside the existing roadway alignment, the existing Mosquito Road and bridge would likely remain open to traffic with some short term closures.
