Document Description
The Project includes recapture of water released from Calaveras Dam. The implementation of the water recapture will require that SFPUC construct several improvements in and around Pit F2 to pump the water from the quarry pit and convey it to existing water supply infrastructure in the Sunol Valley. The Project, as amended is expected to cause the permanent loss of 0.35 acre of habitat for the California tiger salamander and/or Alameda whipsnake, semi-permanent (one or two years) loss of 11.05 acres of habitat for the California tiger salamander and/or Alameda whipsnake and temporary (less than one year) loss of 0.003 acres of habitat for the California tiger salamander and/or Alameda whipsnake, for a total of 11.41 acres. The project is expected to result in incidental take of California tiger salamander and/or Alameda whipsnake which are designated as a threatened species under CESA. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation.
