Document Description
The project would consist of installing 3,300 to 3,500 PV panels on ground-mounted fixed plane racks in staggered rows covering approximately 2.3 acres located generally in the northwest corner of the VSD site. The fixed-tilt racking will be oriented due south at a tilt angle of 15 degrees. The height of the panels will not exceed 20' and there will be approximately 18" of clearance between the ground and the bottom of the lowest mounted panel. The racks will be installed on H-beam upright members placed in excavated concrete foundations up to 7' deep bored by a powered auger drill. The solar panels would be mounted on H-beam cross members. The proposed project would generate approximately 1 megawatt of photovoltaic energy which is approximately 50% of VSD's electrical demand.
