Document Description
Request for a Coastal Development Permit to allow grading and recontouring of an approximately 15-acre site in preparation for future agricultural uses. Approximately 6,400 cubic yards of material will be moved (with no net export or import) to achieve a ~1% slope toward Via Real and Carpinteria Creek. Drainage features (i.e., vegetated swales) would be included to capture and retain site runoff. The project also includes the restoration of the unpermitted destruction of approximately 13,000 sf of streamside terrace and historic upper creek bank within the riparian corridor of Carpinteria Creek. Restoration will include removal of debris and invasive species, re-grading damaged areas and replanting with native vegetation.
