Document Description
CDFW has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2016-0034-R5, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Southern CA Edison, as represented by Hazem Gabr. The project proposes to construct a new 500/220/66/16-kV Mesa Substation and demolish the existing 220/66/16-kV substation to increase the substation's footprint from approx. 22 acres to 69 acres. The project will also replace (through removal and installation) and modify transmission lines, subtransmission lines, and distribution structures to accommodate the new 500/220/66/16-kV Mesa Substation. Other project activities include installation of new telecommunication lines, modifications to an existing telecommunication line, temporary modifications to 220-kV equipment at several existing substations to prevent electrical outages during construction, relocation of an existing 72-inch water pipe that traverses the substation site, electrical and/or telecommunications equipment upgrades at 27 existing substations, and undergrounding three spans of overhead streetlight conductor.
