Document Description
Project includes improvements to existing trail segments and construction of a new trail segment. New trail segment would replace the previously existing Pfeiffer Falls Trail which was damaged by wildfire and has been closed to public access since 2008. Trail improvements to the existing segments would feature a five-foot wide compacted aggregate surface contained in redwood header boards. Wood steps, split wood rail fencing, and rock retaining walls would be installed where needed in areas of steep slopes and to protect natural resources. Two existing gathering areas and a new canyon overlook would be improved with a compacted base, rock retaining walls, benches and interpretive kiosks/displays. The proposed project also includes a new 70-foot long free spanning pedestrian would also be constructed further up the creek corridor over an unnamed tributary.
