Document Description
The CarMax Corporation through its project sponsor is proposing to establish a regional car marketing facility within the City of Murrieta. The proposed site is Murrieta serves as a central location to CarMax's Southern California market strategy for both sales and Quality Certification of vehicles. This proposed project site is large enough to accommodate the size of the proposed facility and has the geographic proximity (regional market and access) necessary to serve CarMax's market strategy. The proposed site also has the necessary access to major transportation networks. The site is vacant with the exception of one residential building. CarMax proposes to demolish the existing structures and the few site improvements that exist on the property. The proposed development consists of the construction of a CarMax pre-owned automobile dealership, retail service facility, Quality Certification service facility, wholesale auction facility, non-public carwash, private fuel dispensing unit and vehicle accessory sales and installations with associated access drives, parking lots, and security gates. The proposed project will include a sales building with an attached presentation area and retail service building, a stand-alone Quality Certification service building, an auction/quality control building, non-public carwashes and a gatehouse. An additional non-public carwash is being planned for future construction as needed.
