Document Description
This project will replace stairs that provide access to the upper tier of cells within cell blocks A and B and will improve access between the upper tiers within Building 5 at Folsom State Prison (FSP).
Specificially, CDCR will remove and replace the existing stair and replace with a compliant stair width, riser height, tread length, and hand rail height. The new stairs will be detailed to mimic the historical features of the removed stairs: welded angles, narrow profile, 1" ogee nosing, perforated steel closed riser painted black, and embossed non-slip tread.
