Document Description
Project consists of replacement of the primary water supply line for the Mendocino Unit Laytonville Forest Fire Station (FFS). Approximately 350 ft of line will be trenched to a depth of 24 in & width of 18 in from the water tank to the pump station. The existing pipe will be removed and a new one installed. An Infiltrator System measuring 4 ft x 25 ft, will be installed at grade adjacent to the existing water tank. An additional 150 ft of water pipeline located between the pumping station and the barracks will be replaced. The project will occur on previously disturbed ground located entirely on the FFS property. Vegetation removal will be limited to the ground-cover plants and shrubs growing along the pipeline right-of-way. Soil removed will be back-filled and the surface straw mulched prior to the winter season. This project is necessary to insure an adequate supply of water for domestic and firefighting uses at the FFS.
