Document Description
CDFW has executed lake and streambed alteration agreement no. 1600-2015-0083-R2, pursuant to section 1602 of the fish and game code to the project applicant, city of elk grove as represented by Brian Fragiao. The project consists of the removal of debris and/or sediment, vegetation, or beaver dams that substantially obstruct water flow and channel capacity for various improved and improved drainage channels throughout Elk Grove. Hand removal at all five locations includes tree limbing and trimming of herbaceous vegetation in the channel and on the banks. Manual removal includes the use of equipment such as weed wackers, chainsaws, trimmers, pruners, and other hand tools. Work will be done during dry season when the channels are dry. All slash created by the weed whacking and/or pruning will be removed from the channel and disposed of outside of Department jurisdictional areas. No riparian or aquatic vegetation will be removed and no work will occur in wetted channels. Mechanical channel maintenance will be performed from existing maintenance roads using a backhoe or long reach excavator. The maintenance activities will not result in alteration to the channel profile as the purpose of these activates is to remove sediemnt and vegetation that has accumulated and return the channels to their original depth.
