Butano Creek at Pescadero Creek Road Sediment Removal Project

The proposed Project involves sediment removal from 100 linear feet of Butano Creek beneath the Pescadero Creek Road bridge, and the area immediately upstream (south) and downstream (north) of the bridge. The objective of the Project is to alleviate chronic (low magnitude, frequently occurring) flooding at Pescadero Creek Road by removing accumulated sediment in the immediate vicinity of the bridge. Sediment removal maintenance would occur annually for up to five years. Approximately 1,455 cubic yards of sediment would be removed from the creek channel during the first maintenance year. It is anticipated that sediment removed in subsequent years would be less than, and no more than, 1,455 cubic yards in the same project footprint.
