Document Description
The proposed project consists of replacement of an outdated jail facility at Santa Clara County's Main Jail Complex with a new jail building at either of two locations shown on Figure 1. The conceptual plan for the replacement jail is a single building of up to 325,000 sf in size with a maximum height of 150 feet (six stories). The existing three-story, 133,000 sf Main Jail South building would be demolished. The new building would address the increased inmate population as a result of the State's AB 109 Realignment program and the need for inmate programs (education, substance abuse, job replacement, life skills, etc.) within the incarceration system.
