Document Description
The Western Rock Blotter Area is located within AOC Power Block 1-5, east of the administration building and north of the building that housed the former power generation units 1-5. The complete Rock Blotter AOC measures 640 feet long and 50 feet wide (though it is up to 68 feet wide along some portions of the total length) and there were 16 large transformers in use in this area. The western part of the Rock Blotter Area along the north side of the building that housed the former power generation units 1-2 has not been investigated, and is the focus of the proposed project. This portion measures approximately 315 feet long and 50 feet wide (though it is up to 68 feet wide along some portions of the total length). Seven transformers have been removed from this area but the concrete foundations and unused rail tracks are still in place. The IM Workplan present the remedial approach for investigation and excavation and removal of affected soils (and concrete foundations and rails, as necessary), and confirmation sampling during this process to verify any contaminants left in place are below screening levels and to verify excavation extent.
