Aliso Canyon Community Park Dog Park - Initial Study, Mitigated Negative Declaration and Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program (Project Application PA13-0

The project evaluated consists of a conditional use permit, site development permit and coastal development permit to develop a maximum of 5.47 acres for a dog park at Aliso Canyon Community Park. The proposed dog park includes five areas: 72,300 square foot of fenced dog activity areas; 13,400 square foot parking lot with 29 parking spaces; 31,600 of hydroseed area; 97,600 square feet of open space area; and 23,400square feet of perimeter landscaping. Construction of the dog park includes grading, preparation of dog run areas, parking lot, landscaping and walkways. The dog park will not have building structures or lighting but will include shade structures, gates and fencing, concrete flatwork, water fountain, outdoor seating and landscaping. Grading activities include 5,610 cubic yards of cut, 1,250 cubic yards of over-excavation and 6,860 cubic yards of fill to be balanced onsite. The project does not include import or export of soil. On July 1, 2015, the City of Aliso Viejo approved the following actions related to the Project: 1) Approve and adopt an initial study, mitigated negative declaration and mitigation monitoring and reporting program prepared in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act for a dog park at Aliso Canyon Community Park and 2) Planning Application PA13-010 (CUP/SDP) which includes a conditional use permit and site development permit to develop a dog park at Aliso Canyon Community Park.
