Document Description
The proposed project includes maintenance dredging within the waterside portion of the Southwestern Yacht Club (SWYC) leasehold and the beneficial reuse of the sand along the near shore area at La Playa Beach located in Shelter Island in San Diego. Over the past several years, silting of sand in the southwest corner of the SWYC leasehold has caused the breakup of docks used for junior sailing, causing SWYC to remove a section of the junior's dock. Furthermore, the silting of sand has also decreased the water depth in front of the small boat hoist area limiting access for boaters. The proposed work includes maintenance dredging of approx. .15 acres of navigable waters. The dredged material will then be used for beneficial reuse at La Playa Beach.
