Document Description
The proposed project would provide storm water utility infrastructure improvements in selected areas of the UCSD west campus. Irrigation runoff carries pollutants on the gournd into the University of Califonria San Diego (UCSD) storm water conveyance system and is a chronic source of dry weather flows. The proposed project includes the replacement/retrofit of irrigation controllers, master valves, and flow meters to reduce water use and irrigation runoff. The project also includes the retrofit of ornamental turf areas with storm water treatment areas (e.g., bio-swales) to remove pollutants from urban runoff and to reduce the velocity and volume of runoff to prevent erosion.
