Document Description
The San Bernardino Municipal Water Department staff has identified the existing pipeline along Sheridan Road as cumbersome and leaky, requiring frequent maintenance. The project is needed to replace and upgrade existing aging water infrastructure and to remove College/Palm 1663 Sub-Zone B within the College/Palm 1720 Pressure Zone. The project consists of the installation of 8-inch diameter ductile iron pipe with a distance of approx. 3,050 linear feet along Sheridan Road, 230 linear feet along Melborne Road and 375 linear feet along Lakewood Drive. Removal of the pressure reducing station at intersection of Lakewood Drive and Sheridan Road, as well as the removal of pressure reducing station at 4968 Melborne Road will eliminate College/Palm 1663 Sub-Zone B. Associated facilities along with 94 domestic water services will also be installed with new pressure regulators to reduce any increase in pressure to affected customers. All improvements will be contained within the existing City streets and will not result in an expansion of the service area population.
