Document Description
The Community of Tobin, California originally obtained its domestic water and fire protection water via a creek diversion from Jackass Creek, a perennial stream tributary to the North Fork of the Feather River. The water was diverted via a 6 inch, tar dipped and wrapped steel pipe. The devastating fires that occurred in Northern California in 2008 destroyed the Jackass Creek watershed along with the pipeline. The community of Tobin is faced with inadequate water for fire protection resources. The proposed Project entails the replacement of the existing pipeline that was destroyed during the fires with a new 4 inch, 6 inch, and 8 inch pipeline to a new, up to 150,000 gallon capacity storage tank. The surface water will then be distributed to a series of hydrants throughout the community of Tobin.
