Document Description
Project includes construction of up to 17,500 ft of Title 22 tertiary treated recycled water per year to meet landscape irrigation demands of existing potable and non-potable water customers including the Roddy Ranch Golf Course and two 4 million gallon recycled water storage tanks, and additional pumps and valves for these facilities. In addition to the golf course, the majority of the additional recycled water demands (1,267 of the 1,750 acre-ft) would be from residential and commercial land uses in the City that currently uses potable water for landscape irrigation. The purpose of the project is to increase the use of recycled water from the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), and thereby conserve freshwater resources, increase water supply reliability, and facilitate compliance with the chloride objectives in the permit for the WWTP effluent discharge to Marsh Creek (National Pollution Discharge Elimination System Permit No. CA0085201). The increased use of recycled water would result in corresponding reduction in the discharge of treated wastewater effluent from the WWTP to Marsh Creek, primarily during the months of April through Sept., which is the seasonal period of peak water demand for landscape irrigation.
