Document Description
The Project is a comprehensive update of the City's General Plan that includes policies that guide the way land is developed and used in the City. State law requires that each city adopt a general plan "for the physical development of a city and any land outside its boundaries which bears relation to its planning." The general plan is the foundation for establishing goals, purposes, land use, major transportation routes, and location and general size of future community facilities. The Project covers the proposed City limits as well as the proposed Primary and Secondary SOIs. The Project will meet California Code requirements in order to accommodate new housing and jobs within the City limits in anticipation of future growth through 2035.
