Document Description
The request is for a Land Use Permit to allow for the excavation of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted material associated with former oilfield operations. Excavation would occur on two Union Bradley I wells (W1-3 and -5), and four Union Bradley wells (W2-1, -3, -21, and -22). These excavations would total 613 cubic yards, including clean overburden soil. Clean soil would be stockpiled on site and used to backfill excavations. Approximately 128 cubic yards of contaminated soil would be transported by truck to the Santa Maria Landfill. Excavation areas would be restored to preconstruction conditions using approximately 128 cubic yards of clean backfill from an off-site borrow source. Excavation depths would range from approximately 7 to 15 feet below ground surface. The property includes 2 parcels (617 acre and 148 acres) zoned AG-II-40 and shown as APN 129-010-001 and 128-091-001, located south of Prell Road adjacent to U.S. Highway 101 in the Santa Maria Area, 4th and 5th Supervisorial Districts.
