Document Description
The scope of this project will include the complete demolition of four buildings located at the Rancho Seco Nuclear Generation Station. The buildings include the Training and Records Building, the Technical Center, the Receiving Warehouse and the Generator Building. Additionally, up to 15 acres of parking lot asphalt will be removed. The buildings have been unused for several years. The Training and Records building and Receiving Warehouse were removed from service almost 10 years ago, and have not been maintained. The Technical Center construction was stopped when the nuclear plant was shut down in 1989 and all buildings have deteriorated to the point of becoming a safety hazard. It is in the best interest of SMUD to demolish these buildings to eliminate any further potential liabilities.
