Document Description
The Sonoma County Water Agency's Local Hazard Mitigation Plan Update (approved by the Board of Directors on Dec. 11, 2012) identified the Sonoma Booster Station as critical and essential for water supply. It was also identified as the most vulnerable to seismic hazards because it is situated within the fault deformation zone of the Spring Valley segment of the Bennett Valley fault. The proposed project consists of an investigation of the fault area to determine the extent of the Spring Valley segment within the Sonoma Booster Station site. Proposed activities would include excavation of an exploratory trench approx. 3 feet wide, seventeen feet deep and 200 feet long. Excavated material would be temporarily stored on site until the investigation work is complete then it would be backfilled and the site would be restored to its original condition. All project work and staging area would be conducted within the Water Agency's existing Sonoma Booster Station facility which is in developed and previously disturbed areas.
