Document Description
The Department of Toxic Substances Control has issued an Emergency Permit to NAS North Island located in San Diego, CA to treat hazardous waste by open denotation. The items were generated from Navy training on base. They are currently being stored at NAS North Island in an Explosive Ordinanace and Disposal (EOD) safe holding area. The items along with other items that may be discovered will be transported to the Naval Air Facility (NAF) Bombing Range in El Centro, California where they will be treated by open denotation. Both transport and open detonation will be done following military protocols.
