Document Description
The Project is limited to construction of a Class I multi-use trail for bicyclists and pedestrians. The Project will install a 10-foot-wide pathway that will be part asphalt (approximately 400 linear feet adjacent to Napa Creek) and part concrete (173 linear feet adjacent to Napa Creek), with shoulders ranging 2-3 feet in width. The Project will also install a 165-foot-long, tapered retaining wall on the uphill side of the pathway with an exposed face of 1.5 feet at each end, rising to eight feet at the center. A second retaining wall will be installed on the west side of State Route 29 and will be approximately 140 feet long with an exposed face of one foot at each end, rising to seven feet at the center. Drainage swales will be constructed along the pathway, and an existing storm drain inlet on the west side of State Route 29 will be replaced with a new storm drain drop inlet that will connect to a new storm drain manhole that will be installed beneath the trail. Approximately 8 cubic yards of rock slope protection will be placed on the banks for energy dissipation from stormwater outfalls. A 2-inch schedule 40 high density polyethylene (HDPE) conduit with a pull rope for future installation of lighting will be installed along the inside perimeter of the trail. The Project will result in temporary impacts to 6,150 square feet and 125 linear feet of riparian habitat. The Project will result in permanent impacts to 4,753 square feet and 280 linear feet of stream and riparian habitat and will remove 9 riparian trees.
