Caltrans proposes to replace the existing Floriston sand and salt house, located at PM 27.4, with the proposed sand and salt house located within state right of way off westbound I 80 in Truckee, PM 19.0 to 19.4, between the California Department of Food and Ag Truckee Border Protection Station and CHP, south of Union Mills Rd. When the proposed building is completed, the existing buildings at Floriston will be demolished.
