Document Description
The City of San Mateo's Clean Water Program is a series of projects to upgrade and increase the capacity of its wastewater treatment plant and sewer system. In 2009, the City, CSCSD, and Hillsborough were issued a Cease and Desist Order (COO) (R2-2009-0020) due to violations in discharge prohibitions from sanitary sewer overflows. The Clean Water Program will upgrade the wastewater treatment plant (VVWTP) to handle peak wet weather flow and upgrade the City's collection system to enable it to meet current and future regulatory requirements such as nutrient loading and elimination of blending.
