Document Description
The proposed project objectives are to maintain the Deer Creek Channel as an effective conveyance of irrigation water. This will require periodic maintenance of existing structures as well as the beds and banks of the channel. Specific maintenance projects for the study have not yet been identified at this time, however the proposed maintenance activities expected to be covered under the SAA include repair and maintenance of approximately 70 features (bridges, dams, pipes, weirs, and/or turnouts) at approximately 22 locations within the bed and bank of the Deer Creek Channel or turnout channel immediately adjacent to the creek. Activities would occur both above and below ordinary high water. Other maintenance activities could include the control of vegetation within the Deer Creek Channel and the removal of accumulated sediment at selected features within the channel.
