Document Description
The project will provide surface water to farmland from Ave. 116 Canal in order to alleviate overdraft of groundwater. The proposed project objectives are to construct an open channel canal and recharge basin to connect over 800 acres of farmland currently not being served with surface water from the Ave. 116 Canal within the Pixley Irrigation District. The project will obtain easements as the open channel canal will cross country roads and right of ways, and will construct turnouts in Ave. 116 Canal at Rd. 148 as well as install 1 mile of open channel canal heading south along Road 148, and an open space channel canal will head east to west from Road 148 at Ave. 108 and will terminate into the proposed recharge basin. The recharge basin will ensure excess water will be returned to groundwater.
