Document Description
On April 27, 2015, the Planning Commission of the City of Montclair adopted a Mitigated Negative Declaration, approved a Mitigation Monitoring Program, and approved a Precise Plan of Design for the expansion and enhancement of Montclair Plaza (the "Montclair Plaza Expansion/Enhancement Project" or the "Proposed Project"). The Proposed Project would involve expansion and enhancement of the existing Montclair Plaza mall. Upon project implementation, portions of the existing mall, several out-buildings, and portions of the existing surface parking lots would be demolished, remaining mall areas would be renovated and refurbished; a net total of 208,895 square feet of gross leasable area would be added to the Project Site (consisting of new retail/entertainment/restaurant spaces); and, new structured parking totaling 1,203,312 square feet would be constructed on the site. All demolitions and additions would occur within the existing mall property. Construction would last for approximately 30 months, and all construction staging would be accommodated within the Project Site.
