Document Description
The project is the construction of a new two-story building with eight classrooms and a courtyard at Ralston Middle School, to serve an anticipated increase in student enrollment. The proposed classroom building will be located in a currently paved area of the campus used as a 48-space parking lot and basketball courts. Construction of the classroom building in this area of the campus will require restriping of the parking lot to include 49 parking spaces (a net increase of one space). Additionally, an 8,700 square foot (sf) area in the northeastern corner of the school's sports field will be asphalt paved to allow the basketball courts to be relocated and reconfigured south of their existing location. The overall project will result in a net loss of three half-sized basketball courts. The project also evaluates replacement of the school's natural turf sports field with a synthetic turf sports field, in case the District decides to pursue this option in the future.
