The project is being implemented to prevent flooding of SR 269 where it crosses Los Gatos Creek, and is part of a larger improvement project involving SR 269 north and south of Los Gatos Creek. More specifically, the Project involves modifying the Los Gatos Creek channel upstream and downstream fo the State Route 269 roadway crossing and raising the State Route 269 roadway crossing over Los Gatos Creek to accommodate a 100-year flood event. Work associated with the SR 269 roadway crossing will be completed within the Caltrans right-of-way while work in the channel upstream and downstream of the Caltrans right of way will be conducted under Temporary Construction Easement granted by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.
