Document Description
The Project includes construction of 33 single-family dwelling units and associated infrastructure on 28 acres of undeveloped land and permanent protection and perpetual management of a 61-acre open space conservation easement. The Project will result in permanent impacts to up to 37 individual Santa Susana tarplant (Deinandra minthornii; Covered Species) on 1.46 acres of habitat (Deinandra minthornii). The Covered Species is a plant species designated and protected as a “rare” species pursuant to the Native Plant Protection Act (Fish & G. Code, § 1900 et seq.). The original ITP issued by CDFW on June 20, 2019, authorized take of up to 10 Covered Species individuals occupying 1.07 acres of habitat in Lot 151. These plants and habitat were taken on May 19, 2023, as authorized in the original ITP. In May 2023, the Project deviated from the terms of the original ITP by accruing additional take of Santa Susana tarplant beyond the scope authorized by the original ITP. As a result of this deviation, the Project conferred with CDFW and sought additional take authorization, by means of an amendment to the original ITP, for additional Santa Susana tarplant that have been and will be impacted by completion of the Project. On December 22, 2023, CDFW issued an amended ITP for the Project in order to authorize additional take of up to 27 Covered Species individuals in Lot 22 (18 plants) and Lot 23 (nine plants) occupying 0.39 acres of habitat.
