Document Description
Mayor Approval to update the Chicano Park General Development Plan (GDP) to include existing and new amenities within the park. The project would improve the existing park by replacing the existing playground and equipment. This would also involve replacing the sand with rubber surfacing. Additional improvements include a new handball court, new seating, picnic tables, additional drinking fountains, decorative fountain repairs, new landscaping, mural map signage, and additional mural map, and a new skate area. Other future improvements to the park include restroom renovation, additional fountain near the lower playground, paved gathering space and a lighting plan for all murals. Total improvements would encompass less than one acre of land.
