Document Description
The project is the construction and operation of an oil field produced water conveyance system. The District is currently partnering with local oil producers to acquire up to 8,000 acre-feet (AF) per year of produced water for delivery to crops in the District. The produced water would first be treated to remove residual hydrocarbons before it leaves the oil fields. The treated water would then be transported from the oil fields through 12- and 15-inch underground pipelines to two proposed reservoirs with ~1,200 AF of total storage capacity. From the two new reservoirs, water would be transported in 18-and 24-inch pipeline to the District's existing Big 4 Reservoir, from which it will be distributed to irrigated agriculture within the District. As part of the Project, three new agricultural turnouts would be constructed to facilitate conveyance of the water.
