Document Description
This is a rule amendment project to amend existing District Rule 4905 (Natural Gas-fired, Fan-type Residential Central Furnaces). Rule 4905 applies to natural gas-fired, fan-type residential central furnaces with a rated heat input capacity of less than 175,000 British thermal units per hour (Btu/hr), and for conbination heating and cooling units with a rated cooling capacity of less than 65,000 Btu/hr. The purpose of this rule amendment project is to fulfill commitments in the District's 2008 PM2.5 Plan, 2012 PM2.5 Plan, and 2013 Plan for the Revoked 1-Hour Ozone Standard to further reduce NOx emissions from residential units and explore the possibility of existing rule applicability to include NOx emission limits for commercial units.
