Document Description
This project will add facilities to recycle the filter backwash and return it to the headworks of the Ione Water Treatment Plant saving 16 million gallons of water annually. The facilities will be located within the existing water treatment plant site and will not increase the plant capacity.

Reasons for Exemption
This project will return approximately 90% of the backwash water to the headworks of the plant reducing source water demands and discharges to the Ione wastewater system. There is no increase in plant capacity and all modifications are contained within the existing plant site. The project will constst of minor alterations to the water treatment plant.
