Document Description
The project is limited to grading of an instream gravel bar to fill an isolation pool that has been created within the channel. Work will occur in the dry channel. Gravel (from the gravel bar) will be used to fill the deepest part of the isolation pool. The remainder of the bar will be leveled and re-graded to gather additional fill material if needed. No outside fill material will be used to complete this work, and no substrate will be removed from the river channel. The extent and exact area of the gravel bar to be graded will be determined in the field based on the size of substrate, equipment limitations, hydraulics, and channel morphology. Assuming that the full gravel bar needs to be graded by 3-feet, approximately 9,600-cubic feet of rock would be moved.
