Document Description
The project proposes the installation of three (3) storm water best management practices (BMPs) in the alley to capture, infiltrate, and retain storm water runoff. The project will use permeable pavers, dry well/catch basins, and rainwater harvesting for plant irrigation. The project will remove pollutants such as pathogens, oils, greases, suspended solids, metals, and other toxics that will assist in meeting the Los Angeles River Total Maximum Daily Load (MDL) requirements. Besides the BMP, the project will construct/install the following: solar or City Electrically Powered lighting fixtures; Entry and interpretive signage; Type 'C' integral curb and gutter, concrete walks; asphalt concrete pavement; interlocking permeable pavers per City of Los Angeles Standard Plans S-485-0; Bollards (6' high, 4" diameter, spaced 6' apart) will be installed to support growing espallered fruit trees within some of the community planting areas.
